Entry:

• Successful completion of the Year 10 Social Studies or Economics programme, or at the discretion of the Head of Faculty.

Information:

• Economics is the study of resources and how people use them. The course allows students to improve their skills of investigation, research and decision making while providing an insight into the role of the economy in their own lives.
• There may be field trips as part of this course of study.

Students study the ideas of:
• How we act as consumers
• Prices and Markets
• Economic Decision-Making
• Consumer Law

Note: All Achievement Standards offered in this course contribute to NCEA Level 1 Literacy.
