Entry Requirements:
Open Entry
Students will receive a visual diary when they have paid their subject fee. Students will also be asked to supply a pattern and material to construct a garment.
The key considerations when working in Technology are:
• Designing the product to meet specified needs
• Selecting materials
• Choosing the method for making the product
• How the product affects the environment
• An emphasis on design
Some of the topics covered:
• Logo design
• Wearable art
• Chocolate manufacturing
• Gifts (bath bombs, jewellery, small Textile items)
• Design a muffin
Subjects this leads on to:
NCEA Level One Technology – Textiles or Hard Materials
