Learning Support Faculty

HoF: Ms Lynley Reynolds

Students at Wainuiomata High School have their learning needs catered for by their classroom teachers with support from other areas of the school including the Learning Support Faculty. At junior level students may be placed in team taught classes. At senior level students make subject choices based on specific requirements and career planning.

Enterprise Studies – Year 10
Discover Our World – Year 10
ESOL Years 11-13

• Small group of students with highly individualised teaching and learning programmes.
• Regular IEP’s (Individual Education Plans) developed with student, parent/caregiver and teacher input.
• Close liaison with outside agencies such as Group Special Education, Hearing and Vision support and ACC.
• Teachers' aides provided for student and teacher support.
• ESOL (English as a Second Language) available for students new to New Zealand to develop oral and written skills.
