Welcome to the Wainuiomata High School Library
Librarian: Mrs Carman
The Wainuiomata High School Library has a central role to play in meeting the educational goals of the school by providing a welcoming environment that supports the school's curriculum and equity goals and encourages reading as a lifelong habit.
Hours of opening:
• with library staff
Monday 8.30am to 3.15pm
Tuesday to Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm
• with a teacher (Homework Centre)
Tuesday to Friday 3.15pm to 5.00pm
All library users are expected to:
- be respectful of other library users
- be kind to books and computers - this includes leaving food, drink, gum, etc. outside the library
- leave bags and jackets in the shelves provided in the entrance foyer (but keep valuables on your person)
- have your ID card if you want to borrow books, use the computers or use the photocopier/printer
- have a note from your teacher, and show it to library staff, if you come to the library during class time
- ask a librarian for help if you need it
Student Librarians
A team of student librarians is organised by a senior student. Each member of the team receives training and is rostered to assist in the library at least one interval or lunchtime each week.
