Students who participate and contribute in communities have a sense of belonging and the confidence to participate within new contexts.
We aim to inspire young people to develop the values, competencies and knowledge needed to become lifelong learners who contribute in a positive way to society and to live full and satisfying lives.
The school promotes these values through:
|
|
Excellence
We encourage all students to aim for the highest levels of achievement they can and to persevere in the face of difficulties. The school will foster, recognise and celebrate the achievements of all students.
Innovation, inquiry and curiosity
Students are supported to think critically, creatively and reflectively. These key skills are actively taught and fostered with individual students.
Diversity
We recognise, value and celebrate the different cultures, languages and heritages of our students. |
The principles of the Treaty of Waitangi are upheld and tikanga Maori is central to who we are as a school.
Equity
All students can expect to be treated justly and fairly so they experience success in their learning.
Community and participation
The school and the community are closely linked. Parents are central to this and are encouraged to be actively involved with the school in a partnership to support their son’s or daughter’s learning. The school will continually seek ways to strengthen this partnership. Students are encouraged to serve their community now and into the future.
|
Integrity
All members of the school are expected to act honestly and responsibly. Our staff model this at all times.
Respect
We aim to continually foster respect, not only self respect but respect for others and their property. Violence, verbal or physical, is not accepted and students are supported to achieve this.
