Cross Country
Wainuiomata High School ran their first Cross Country since 2006 on Thursday 23 June. The event was organised and implemented by the students of the High School’s Sports Academy.
It was a day event run from 9:00am – 11:00am for seniors and from 11:20am – 1:20pm for the juniors. Even though the weather wasn’t the best we still had a spectacular turn out with around 500 students participating in the race.

The theme of the race was house colours, with many students dressing up and having fun, while others enjoyed wearing mud after doing mud slides as a finale on the course.
The race began and ended on the school field and was a 3.5km course throughout Parkway, Wainuiomata.
All in all the day was very enjoyable and a great success thanks to the hard work from the Sports Academy students: Josh Castle, Melanie Grace, Katy Kosega, Hokianga Morunga, E.J Albright,Jordan Heron, Richard Krieg, Michael Fowles and Fa’alava Alesana.
