School Production - "Horseplay"
Written by Chris Bailey, music by Peter Thwaite and interpreted and directed by our very own Tanya Graham (teacher of English), this production was performed by a menagerie of incredibly talented and entertaining Wainuiomata High School students.
Horseplay was the High School’s production for 2011 which showed 04-07 October in the Auditorium to an enthusiastic house each night. The show was a singing comedy based around the Greek gods, the Trojans and the Greeks. It “loosely” chronicled the love triangle of Paris (Casey Tauaneai), Menelaus (Waiariki Koia) and Helen (Juanita Randall), narrated by the Gods, Phixious and Nixious (hilariously portrayed by Callaise Tuita and Tracy Tunupopo respectively).
There was singing and dancing, comedic interludes and fun for the whole family. The cast and crew worked hard and long hours to bring together a show which offered a plethora of talent, a belly ache of laughter and an evening of pure enjoyment and entertainment.
Congratulations to Tanya Graham and her team, including Suzanne Meijer (Director’s Assistant), for their commitment to the continuation of drama at Wainuiomata High School.
