Kapa Haka
The Wainuiomata High School Kapa Haka team, Te Tira Whakaau, performed at the Regional Championships in Masterton at the end Term 2. Eight teams competed and were marked on seven aspects. Te Tira Whakaau placed 3rd on one, 2nd on another and 1st in the remaining five aspects, so placed 1st overall. The group now looks forward to competing in the nationals in 2012 – in Whangarei.
