Mathematics with Calculus - NCEA Level 3
Qualifications:
• NCEA Level 3.
• You will need at least 10 credits at Level 1 Mathematics to qualify for the NCEA Level 1 Certificate.
• You will need at least 10 numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher to gain University Entrance.
• You will need 14 credits at Merit or above for a subject endorsement. (at least 3 internal and 3 external credits).
Students will be required to have a graphical calculator (These can be purchased through the school).
Entry:
• At least 14 credits from MAT201 course including Achievement Standards 2.1 (90284), 2.2 (90285) and 2.3 (90286), or the equivalent Unit Standards being 5246, 5253 and 5261 respectively.
• You will need 14 credits at Merit or above for a subject endorsement. (at least 3 internal and 3 external credits).
Information:
• This course is for students considering sciences, such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is particularly suitable for students who are comfortable with algebra and who will be studying to advanced tertiary level in the above-mentioned fields as well as in specialised fields such as Engineering and Architecture.
• To assist the students in gaining the required credits towards NCEA, equivalent Unit Standards to the external Achievement Standards will be offered throughout the year.
