Stage Challenge 2011
The Wainuiomata High School Stage Challenge troupe stepped it up a level this year, after our first ever entry last year. This year’s performance was about the Greek myth the Abduction of Persephone by Hades, God of the Underworld.
Performed at the TSB Bank Arena on 26 and 27 May, our group did themselves and the High School very proud. Along with a Participation Award, Wainuiomata High School also received awards for Costume and Character, Drama and Performance Skill. I attended the performance and was very impressed with the effort, professionalism and commitment shown by our students.
A huge thank you to all of the students involved, the staff who gave up their time to support the students and to the parents and caregivers of the performers who supported their children in an endeavor that they are passionate about. Special thanks to Debbie Knewstubb-Smith and Sahara Siale for their unwavering support of the Arts at Wainuiomata High School.
