Wainuiomata is an ever-growing community, with a population of almost 20,000 people. Surrounded by beautiful nature, native birds and landscapes, Wainuiomata offers a lot of outdoor activities. For example, mountain biking, bush walks/hiking, horse riding, outdoor swimming pool and slide, trout fishing or river swimming, and many more to discover. Wainuiomata also offers a lot of sport clubs such a Golf, tennis, rugby, soccer, softball, Ki-O-Rahi, and a whole lot more you can join! With an ever-growing community, comes with varieties of shops that Wainuiomata has to offer. We have a hardware store, super market, food stores, library, a 24/7 gym, medical centers and others.

Wainuiomata is a part of Lower Hutt City within in the Wellington Region. Lower Hutt City is only a 10 to 15-minute drive/bus ride over the hill of Wainuiomata. Lower Hutt City offers a variaty of local stores, resturants and plenty of activities to explore.
Wellington City, the capital of New Zealand, is only a 20-minute drive from Wainuiomata. Wellington is a big city you can explore.
Bus and train services are available everywhere and are easy to use when exploring Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt city and Wellington City.
ACTIVITIES IN WAINUIOMATA
The school is a signatory to the Education(Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (theCode) established under section 534 of the Education and Training Act 2020.
The school has attested that it complies with all aspects of the Code and has completed an annual review of its implementation. At the time of this review there were 10 international students attending the school, all from Japan an din homestay accommodation.
The school’s internal review process provides reliableinformation about provision for international students. This information isregularly reported to senior leaders and the board. Changes are made to addressany identified issues.
Students’ welfare needs are well met. They receive high qualitypastoral care that includes effective orientation, learning and accommodationsupport and comprehensive monitoring. Students enjoy participation in theinclusive environment and in cultural, sporting and wider community activities.
