I ngā tau maha kua hipa atu kua tū Te Tira Whakaau ki ngā whakataetae maha, ā-rohe mai, ā-motu mai. I te tau 2010 ki Te Arawa i eke te kapa nei ki te tūranga tekau mā tahi i ngā whakataetae ā-motu. I te tau 2009 me te tau 2015 i haere te rōpū nei ki Hawaii me Ngā Ānahera ka mutu ka tū ki te Polynesian Centre me Disneyland. I te tau 2018 i haere te kapa nei ki Hapani. Mōkori anō a whakamānawa ki ngā iwi taketake o ērā whenua nāna mātou i manaaki, i tiaki.
Te Tira Whakaau (Wainuiomata High School kapa haka) have stood at numerous regional and national competitions. To date 2010 has been our most successful year qualifying 11th overall and receiving other accolades also. Te Tira Whakaau have had the honour and privilege to travel to Hawaii and Los Angeles with performances at The Polynesian Cultural Centre in Hawaii and Disneyland in Anaheim. Te Tira Whakaau also travelled to Japan. We thank our hosts and people for the hospitality and new friendships created. We can't wait till the borders are open so that we can travel and experience that beautiful culture again.
