Kia ora

I am sure you are aware that the Prime Minister announced that New Zealand was moving to Alert Level 1 at midnight last night.  For us here at Wainuiomata High School, there will be no major changes to what we are doing, and our school continues to be safe to attend, including any staff and children who are considered more vulnerable to COVID-19.  We have a good cleaning routine in place, people who are sick are staying at home and we continue to encourage good hygiene practices.

We are supporting contact tracing by having QR code posters at our entrances.Visitors to the school will still have to sign in but we will revert to the old practice of using our electronic sign in system for visitors.

What is changing is we can now look forward to inter-school and community sport, cultural events and performances and to welcoming all of our school community and wider community on site for these activities.  Field trips are now back on the agenda and Mana Tagata can now run from 3.30pm – 6.30pm. Students will now be able to share kai at school.

Ngā mihi, Janette Melrose (Tumuaki)
